On today’s #thursdaythoughts video on my LinkedIn, I shared about a recent Forbes Coaches Council panel on Creating a Roadmap for Teambuilding.

As a leader, building an effective team is the only way you will achieve the organization’s goals. (Spoiler alert: You cannot do it alone!) If you agree, then you are always looking for ways to build a team that is cohesive, productive, and effective. This takes intentional work.

Teambuilding Tips and a Client Example

Patience and planning are key as you embrace effective teambuilding.

An ongoing client of mine, the Orsted PEMA team, committed to an 18-month plan to train their full department on a valuable team assessment tool. The team’s leader, Ellen Crivella, knew that due to budget it would take time. But she laid out a process that resulted in her team being fluent and aligned on a methodology – the Team Management Profile from Team Management Systems – that helps them communicate, plan and execute their work with increased efficiency and effectiveness. Their planning and patience has paid off, and it  has been a pleasure to watch them grow.
